About to break ground in Tucson, AZ and worried about the same thing… We’re on 2 acres and local compost is salty/unfinished. I’m considering adding about 2″ layer local compost, immediately sow N-heavy cover crop, then rotating 1/2 acre into production at a time (similar to Eliot Coleman rotation with chickens), eventually having 1 acre being intensively farmed at a time inside rotation. Complex comment… Thoughts?
