Curtis I’m starting up on farmland that hasn’t been farmed for over 40 years..I was wondering what would be best to do for a starter soil..my thoughts were a cover crop 1st and then till and apply compost…Next thought was to apply steer Manure till it in with layer of compost…my concern is the steer Manure coming from a dairy is it good for our farm?? My thinking is all the stirods and antibiotics go to the manure and back to us by way of the soil I dont know…do you have any idea.
